On August 31, 2010, Cobalt Mortgage founded and initially funded, the first corporate chapter of Dollars for Scholars United States.
Our mission:
Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars supports our communities and pioneers corporate citizenship by providing post-secondary scholarships.
Rising costs are closing doors to higher education for many individuals in our community. Through Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars we have the opportunity to make a strong, collective statement about the importance of education beyond high school.
Student Applicants
Dear Students in our community:
Congratulations on pursuing your goals in higher education. It takes tenacity and commitment, and contributes to a stronger, more successful society. At Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars we know how difficult it can be to pay for education - and we would like to help!
Who qualifies for a scholarship?
- Dependents of past or present clients of Cobalt Mortgage loan officers and clients of Affiliate partners who establish a scholarship;
- Or members of the local Boys and Girls Club;
- Or members of the local YMCA/YWCA
Scholarships will be awarded in the communities that Cobalt Mortgage serves.
All awards are a minimum of $500.00, in 2010, we were able to provide 26 scholarships of $1,000 each. We are continually working to increase the size of the awards through partnering with supportive businesses and individuals in your community and through matching programs at various universities. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and for attendance at accredited college or technical institutes.

Scholarships can be established for a one-time*, annual, or renewable award. Affiliate Partner benefits include:
- Cobalt's scholarship facilitation
- Inclusion in our website
- Matching funds made available from Cobalt
- Ability to touch your database notifying them of scholarship availability
- Invitation to personally present awards to students at awards ceremonies
- With renewable scholarships, continued contact with the student throughout their educational experience
- The ability for Affiliate Partners to form long-term relationships in the communities where they live and work
100% of donations made to the Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars general fund go directly to student scholarships.
